Let’s face it – Tonight was all about Audrey… Audrey, Audrey, Audrey!
This won’t be a normal recap because nothing really happened except that Audrey got almost unanimously voted off the island (Except for Austin’s “Judas” persona’s vote – Which really doesn’t count, does it? I mean, who actually takes him seriously anymore?) Audrey also got an automatic penalty vote because she ate real food this week while she was a “have-not.” The only thing we learned from Audrey’s farewell interview with Julie was that CBS continues to spin her storyline in the best light possible.
CBS finally shows us what has been long been rumored – Which is that Audrey was AWOL for several hours at a time in the “Diary Room.” Allegedly she was receiving additional food, medication, rest, etc. No information was given to the houseguests regarding her ongoing status and it seemed like many of them thought she might have quit the competition all together. She would appear in the house and then suddenly disappear… Kind of like a vapor… or a ghost… or… well, you know…
When she reappeared, she was always wearing a blanket and a hoodie. Personally, I think she was angling to market a new Big Brother “Hamster-Wrap” (blanket/hoodie combo)… She will make millions…
Do you think Audrey was close to quitting? Do you think CBS talked her out of quitting since she was their first transgendered houseguest?
Audrey didn’t even bother showing up to the POV Ceremony where she was officially put up on the block – A first in Big Brother history – I guess there have been other times people have missed a POV ceremony, but none wherein they were the ones actually nominated for eviction. Would she show up for her actual eviction? Yes, of course she did. I’m sure her paycheck required her to unless there was a viable medical reason for her not to.
I thought it was interesting that Audrey’s family said that her strategy for the game was to go in and set the pace of the game and play very hard. Moments later, when being interviewed by Julie, Audrey said, “I pretty much didn’t do anything that I said I was going to do.”
Two Things I Loved
First, I loved the conversation they showed of Audrey and Steven on a hammock. Steve was asking genuine questions about her transitioning process and Audrey was answering them honestly. I don’t ever remember seeing this footage before… I really like Steve. It was so interesting that Audrey would prefer to be seen as being female rather than as “transgendered.” Now that she said it… It makes perfect sense to me. Honestly, this minute of tape was pure gold to me. I would have loved to have seen more of this side of Audrey… And of Steve.
I also loved how James made Audrey an omelet and took it up to her when she was hibernating in the Have-Not room. I have no idea what his motives were – but the fact he did it scored some major points with me. He bothered to tangibly show her that he cared for her. I don’t care if they’re playing in a game… I really loved it. Any day that a guy makes a girl some food is a good day. I have many good days – Thanks Mr. Stars99!
HOH Competition – Pop Till You Drop
It’s a head-to-head competition where they play a short pop song, and from the words the contestants are supposed to choose if it correlates to a previous HOH, Battle of the Block, or Power of the Veto competition. If you choose wrong, your opponent wins and you’re eliminated. If you choose right, your opponent is out of the competition and you get to choose the next pairing to play.
THIS is the part of this competition that I’m most interested in… The choosing of the pairing – There’s a lot of strategy to it… They really should NEVER put 2 people in a head-to-head situation if they want both to be HOH. But, they WOULD want to put up 2 people they don’t want to have as HOH – because one would have to be eliminated. Plus, if they’re trying to get rid of someone they don’t want to be HOH – They should put them up against the strongest competitor possible. There are a million strategies… What did you notice?
1st up: Jason and Steve (Randomly chosen) – Jason wins… Steve is out (boo). Jason picks John and Austin to go up next. (Why do you think he chose them?)
2nd up: John and Austin – Austin wins… John is out (boo). Austin picks Jackie and Becky. (I’m surprised at this choice…)
3rd up: Jackie and Becky – Jackie wins… Becky is out (shrug). Jackie picks Liz and Vanessa. (Clay has yet to be picked… Interesting, no?)
4th up: Liz and Vanessa – Vanessa wins and Liz is out (Yay!). Vanessa picks Jackie and Meg. (Lol at Vanessa turning around and picking Jackie to play again…)
5th up: Jackie and Meg – Jackie wins and Meg is out (shrug). Jackie picks Austin and James.
6th up: Austin and James – James surprisingly wins because he randomly chose “BOB” before ever hearing the song so that means Austin is out. By the way, they should ALWAYS make Austin and James play side-by-side – The difference in their height is really hilarious… lol… James picks Vanessa and Clay. (Okay – This is the exact pairing the 6th Sense did NOT want, right? James did not earn any points with this one…lol.)
7th up: Vanessa and Clay – Vanessa wins and Clay is out. Vanessa chooses James and Jackie.
8th up: James and Jackie – James randomly chose HOH again without hearing music but is not so lucky this time – so Jackie is the first HOH. (Ugh!) By default, the final round is between Vanessa and Jason.
9th up: Vanessa and Jason – Vanessa wins 2nd HOH.
HOHs: Jackie (Ugh) and Vanessa (Yay! – Although she is kinda getting on my nerves a little… lol)
Who do you think they will nominate for eviction and why?
