Once again, Namaste has been able to sift through the blogs of the Real Housewives of New York City and bring us the best nuggets of information using her own fun and unique perspective… Enjoy! Thanks, Namaste!
“I’m a Complicated Cookie”
Bethenny was super duper excited for us to see her new digs. Once she heard Carole’s tale of “Someone’s been sleeping in that bed nekkid” she felt pleased as punch to be riding the middling of the road and staying clear.
Ramona was vintage Singer. She donates eight necklaces but wants to hog the press for her brand. FYI, I donated product for the gift bags but declined the need to be on the step and repeat sign and asked for nothing in return. You need to pick your spots. Ramona chooses them all. Heather was on point.
I am remembering one of the earlier seasons with Jill’s fundraiser where there was a bunch of hullabalu about logos, placement and step and repeat. Fame hungry whores. Does Ramona ever really watch herself on these shows or is she just drunk on pinot. Bethenny does compliment Kristen on the event her speech and, most importantly, for raising awareness for an awesome charity.
Regarding Doctor Amadour, this man is smart. He knows me. Whatever he says is probably at least somewhat true. I’m a complicated cookie. That is no secret. I’ve had an interesting life and past, and therapy is an amazing tool for owning your stuff, becoming self-aware, and not being alone in your head.
I sometimes wonder if Dr. Amadour is gonna end up like Dr. Sophie in BH. Does he get a paycheck for appearing on RH?
I’m glad Carole and Dorinda are able to lean on each other’s shoulders. I have a great deal of compassion for their loss.
It has to be so hard for both of them. They swim in a very large pond in Manhattan, yet, so few can relate to the experience of becoming a widow at such a young age. Casting did a very good job getting these two on the show at the same time.
“Ramona is Acting Selfishly”
Kristen is pretty excited her event has arrived. This is her first charity event and I think she chose a good one! She thanks those that bid on the fancy Yummie jeans. Unfortunately, I didn’t save the link to each auction so I cannot report on how much each pair sold. I did have the link to Heather’s and they went for $600.
Let me set the record straight! Heather and I had collaborated six weeks before the event to work out the details that her Yummie team had been in contact with Smiletrain about to set up the pop-up store and work out the logistics. Ramona–thanks so much by the way–of course came to the jean decorating party and brought some of her necklaces and said, “Here, maybe you can all use these to decorate the jeans.” That was very nice of her, and I appreciated it. (Let’s remember that this was two days before the event). Once again, Ramona is acting selfishly. Yummie donated hundreds of pairs of jeans, set up a boutique, and had staff to support the boutique. Ramona comes in, throws a few necklaces down on a table, and expects top billing?! I am so confused here. I would have been more than happy to have supported True Faith, but you can’t come in at the last minute and expect all of these demands at a charity event. Ohhh Ramona… for once, just sit back, and chill the F out!
Like Stars, it took me a while to figure out what was donated by Yummie. On the last episode, I thought Yummie and Heather had donated the jeans to be decorated since we hadn’t been told there as gonna be a pop-up store at the event AND that all the jeans sold at the event were donated so that 100% of the proceeds went to the charity (which is awesome! Like Stars, I am pretty skeptical. If you are ever bored, get an account on www.Guidestar.org. This is a site that publishes the tax forms of all non and not for profits.). Ramona showed up at craft night 2 nights (or the night before the event depending on which blog you read) with some “accessories” and then wanted True Faith to be acknowledged. Add in the fact that she was downright rude during Kristen’s little speech on behalf of the charity and then the sniping about her lack of acknowledgement and I am sick. I am naive and still like to believe that people do charity work simply because it makes them feel good and they want nothing in return. Ramona is not one of those people.
Wow, the coffee grind reader is spot on! How amazing for all of the woman to have that experience. They all have some significant stuff happening in their lives, and this woman really seemed to offer them some guidance!
Maybe the Turkish Coffee Reader is a fan of the show. I don’t know. She at least was more believable than the Medium (Median) at Vicki’s last week. It was funny when Carole wanted to make sure her hubby wasn’t with her ALL the time.
Bethenny and her therapy all just feels a bit déjà vu and played out. I really do think that the therapist seems really good for her. I like how he calls her out.
Snap. That was a little shade thrown by Kristen. I think its interesting that Bethenny allows these sessions to be filmed. By doing so, she guarantees some individual screen time which gives her more exposure. She is one smart cookie.
Carole’s dinner party was really sweet. It’s nice to be in more of an intimate setting with the ladies–less noise and less outside distractions. I much prefer this setting to the others.
While I am not claustrophobic, Carole’s kitchen would give me a panic attack. I am impressed that Adam was able to make a beautiful meal in that teeny tiny doll house kitchen.
Carole and Dorinda going to London together seems like a wonderful thing. It’s nice to have someone to relate to. No one else could even begin to imagine what these ladies have gone through. It was nice to see her open up. I can’t imagine all that she has been through. Carole has lived so many different lives.
I do wonder how Anthony’s family, specifically his mother, feels about watching this play out as piece of Carole’s story line. A wife’s heartbreak and loss at losing her spouse is so very different from a parent’s loss. Anthony’s father, Polish Prince Stanislaw Radziwill, died in 1976, but his mother, Caroline, is 92 and living in Southampton (I wonder if Caroline Kennedy was named after her Aunt?). His sister, Anna, is 54 and lives in NYC.

“I think it was Carole who Acted Dreadfully”
Lu is super excited that Bethenny’s apartment is coming along so nicely. Unfortunately, once Carole arrived, she shit on the whole “super excited” mood and ruffled The Countess’s feathers.
During her (Bethenny’s) visit with Carole, I was taken aback when Carole called me a “dreadful fool” for having a bit of fun in Turks and Caicos. I think it was Carole and Heather who acted dreadfully when they charged into my room hoping to find me in a compromised position. Bethenny had my back on this one, though, when she called out Carole for trying to “bust me” instead of considering my privacy. As usual, Ramona leaves the naked guy upstairs, and I get the heat. I get it, the girls were a little alarmed to find a man sleeping upstairs, but they definitely broke the #GirlCode that morning, and I’m ready to put this situation to bed (hah!).
I will point out for the umpteenth time, Carole and Heather were not plotting and hoping to find Lu swinging from the chandeliers with her pirate. They were super pissed and Ramona had just pointed her stinky finger at Lu. Again, if Lu really wanted to put the situation to bed (her words) she would stop f-ing talking about it! She brought it up at Craft Night. BTW Countess, its WHOM not WHO. Lu goes on to give Kristen high praise for her first charity event which was a wonderful success for a deserving charity Smile Train.
I think Ramona should have stuck to flirting rather than harassing Heather about why her True Faith jewelry wasn’t listed as an event sponsor. We all helped decorate the jeans, and I didn’t expect my brand to receive recognition simply because I contributed and nor should Ramona. Sometimes you have to do things without being recognized. Thank goodness for Sonja making a joke and lightening the mood.
It just showed Ramona as a classless beotch. I wouldn’t want her involved in a PTO fundraiser.
We’ve had experiences on the show with psychics before, and it’s always interesting to see what they predict. Who remembers when we were in Morocco and the psychic foretold that Mario was cheating on Ramona? Turns out she was right! The reader that Carole, Dorinda, and Heather visited in Queens was eerily accurate as well, especially when she told Carole about the black jeep with the scratch that Carole’s husband Anthony owned before his death. Then she predicted Heather’s son Jack would have successful surgery on his ears and that Dorinda’s husband did visit her via balloon after his memorial service. I need to make an appointment with this lady pronto!
I might be in the minority here. While I believe there are real psychics and mediums (medians), I have never felt a deep desire to speak to one. Maybe because I haven’t lost an immediate family member yet.
Regardless of how I feel about Carole dating Adam, I do have to say, he’s a very talented chef. When Carole wanted to buy premade tapenade, he was very patient and assertive about his meal plan. Her dinner party looked delicious, and I loved her table scape with the calla lilies. Then we got a glimpse of Heather’s son Jack’s birthday party where Kristen and Josh gave him tickets to a wrestling event and a huge wrestling belt. That kid is so adorable! I loved his enthusiasm.
Both of these scenes were sweet. I still am not sure how Luann can still claim ownership of Adam. He dated (past tense) her niece. He then moved on and is dating someone else. MOVE ON!
We close on a poignant note with Carole and Dorinda leaving for London to bring home Anthony’s urn. We learn that Dorinda lived in London for a decade before marrying her late husband Richard and they had many great friends across the pond from which she withdrew after his death.
Both of these ladies lost their beloved way too soon. Luann admires them for their ability to persevere and points out that it isn’t just parties and vacations for RHNY.
“Dorinda has Taught Me to Proceed with Caution”
Heather was more than happy to support Smile Train and Kristen in her endeavor to throw a beautiful event for a deserving organization. She is proud of Kristen and was honored to be a part of the event.
This great cause also has brought about the mending of some fences. I was really happy to talk to Dorinda at the event. To this day, I am not sure when I became condescending or judgmental, and I’ve never been condensing to her. So it was with caution that I accepted Dorinda’s apology, and that’s what you see written all over my face. No airs.
Heather does give off an air of “I’m above” when she accepts the apology. Its just off-putting to me. Heather feels that had a very good friendship for months and thought it was real. She is hopeful.
I’m also glad Luann and I made up for the second time. I didn’t have any idea she was harboring anger or resentment, but she is, and there’s a song in it for us all! Stay tuned for more on that one…
Maybe Lu kept bringing this up in order to get more screentime? She should prob get a therapist and start filming her sessions ala Bethenny. NOTE: Heather gives no comment on Ramona’s ridiculous tirade. When you remove oxygen from a fire, the fire burns out. If they stop acknowledging Ramona, maybe she will burn out and go away?
I had never been to a psychic before, and Carole made me take it very seriously. I thought it was so nice of her to ask Dorinda to come along, too. It was a good way for us to bond again.
The beauty of life is that you never know what to expect. Enduring pain is something as humans we need to learn to embrace. Dorinda and Carole clearly understand this, and this was my favorite part. This psychic visit was really wild, and to update you all on Jax, we did take a less invasive route, but it wasn’t successful, and we do need to move forward on reconstruction of both of Jax’s ear drums. This whole experience has helped to remind me that everyone has their things to go through in life. Barriers to break through.
SHIT! I am upset that little Jax needs another surgery. Can we spend more time talking about real probs rather than Ramona’s classless behavior or Luann’s paranoia? My prayers for Jax and hoping his next procedure is his last.
You haven’t gotten to see much of my personal life this season but a peek…We celebrated a landmark for our family with Jax turning 10, and Josh and Kristen pulled out all the stops. I wish you could have gotten to see Jax’s whole birthday party with his little sis Ella and the gang–it was very special and lots of fun.
“The Sentiment of Forgiveness is Lost on Some”
The fair Dorinda waited til Monday morning to finally post her blog. I hope its worth the wait!
So after this week, one thing is clear to me: the sentiment of “forgiveness” is lost on some of us. To me, it was apparent when I tried to apologize to Heather at Kristen’s Smile Train Denim and Diamonds event.
I’ll agree it was odd. I don’t need anyone to “grant” me forgiveness. If I apologize, just say “no worries” and move on.
I thought it’d be a good time to take Heather aside and try to clear the air, because we were both just getting more and more aggravated by the misunderstandings and clashes we’d had throughout the season and, in those situations, time is NEVER on your side. It’s never good to stew in something (unless it involves onions, carrots, turkey broth, dry sherry, and a mother’s touch, but that’s a different story). Well, as you may have noticed, this wasn’t exactly met with open arms. I guess even with forgiveness, Heather passes judgment. Oh well, I tried. I just hope she’s a little less “stiff” with the other girls she preached to all season about the rights and wrongs of their lives: Sonja (“I will never come to your house again!”) to Bethenny (“I think you’re a know-it-all,”) to Ramona (“GET UP!” and “Go take a walk…buh-bye Felicia!”) to Luann (“Wouldn’t you be upset?…I guess I have a different set of values and ethics!”). Kristen and Carole got the winning end of that stick, let me tell ya…
I gotta say, and I hope I don’t get struck down by lightening, but I agree with each of Heather’s gripes about her castmates! If Sonja had made me stand in the rain rather than allowing me into her sitting room with a cup of water, I would be SUPER pissed. Bethenny is a know-it-all and so is Heather. Own it. Ramona needs a “bye Felicia” moment every week. And Lu comes off as an old whore. Sorry to all whores out there. I really hope she is getting regular checks for STDs.
Isn’t Bethenny’s new apartment amazing? Yes, we see the branding mogul touches here and there, but that Skinnygirl red is a hot one. (Or is it “on fleek”?) It’s so nice to have a vision of a home and see it come to life—very few things are as fulfilling, I think. I think you all know how much thought and care I put into a home. It really is everything.
Maybe red is Bethenny’s favorite color or it’s part of her branding. Either way, its pretty genius.
So let’s discuss this coffee reader situation. Can you believe it?! I was a plaid-covered goosebump, sitting there. It was so bizarre! Each of us had a “holy sh–” moment that left us gobsmacked (been wanting to use that word ALL SEASON LONG, gobsmacked). Anthony, Jax, Richard…these are all sensitive subjects and profoundly personal subjects at that! This woman was unbelievable. Of course, aside from being amazed—or gobsmacked—I was really moved.
I think people see psychics or mediums (medians) for many reasons, but mostly to satisfy some yearning they have within themselves. If these ladies got what they needed from the shitty coffee grounds reader (the coffee grounds looked shitty; not talking about the reader).
Carole and I had discussed traveling to London together, so after this coffee mud tasting, we were pretty psyched (HAHA…pun…) about going, despite the emotional rollercoaster it could take us on. I would’ve gone to Carole’s pre-London dinner, but I had so much anxiety about the London trip, I needed some quiet time at home to try and prepare myself. I lived in London for almost 10 years, and it holds a very special place in my heart. I feel like I did all my real growing up there, does that make sense? I lived there with my first husband, who was a Brit, so it was going to be my home—for good. Hannah was born there, and I developed some of my most treasured friendships while living in London.
Ahhhh, now I get it! I really couldn’t figure out how London figured into her background. After she met Richard, they went and visited London often. They created a lot of memories there and Dorinda was pretty nervous about facing all those memories again.
Also, happy belated birthday to you, Jax! What a cool gift, babe! I’m secretly a WWE fan and am obsessed with Divas, so…maybe I can borrow that belt for the dress I’m wearing on Saturday? You know I like all things sparkly!
Seriously have an episode dedicated to this little guy? This kid is a ROCK STAR in my book.
Something I was pleasantly surprised by—at the JFK International Terminal, which is weird, since most surprises at JFK aren’t pleasant—was how quickly Carole and I developed a connection and quickly grew excited to embark on this experience together. It also gave us the opportunity to finally have one-on-one time. I could sense she was a little on the fence about me, which is fine, but I saw it slowly melt away, and we really had a true bonding moment in that Delta lounge.
Dorinda believes up to that point, Carole hadn’t really shared her story with Dorina. She learned a lot about Carole in that lounge and Dorinda then shared her story with Carole. The sharing continued on long into the flight and by the time they landed in Heathrow, I imagine they were both glad they were there together.
