Unfortunately, I needed to do a SPECIAL EDITION that I hope you can take the time to read.
I was almost finished with a very lengthy “Daily Snark” post when I got a notification to “approve” a new poster’s comment. When I went to “approve” it – I was shocked, offended, and saddened by it. Since some of you may also have similar feelings as the commenter’s and it was made in public, I felt that I needed to do a separate post for the purposes of clarity and to ensure everyone understands what is going on.
The new commenter (Happens to be named “Husker”) commented about a portion of my recent Real Housewives of Orange County blog. I am including the section of the recent blog that caused the snarky response for reference purposes since the commenter’s response was not made under the blog where I made the original post. However, the entire unedited blog post can still be accessed at: https://snackingandsnarking.com/2015/08/girl-code-s10e10/
And this was the commenter’s response to my post The comment actually appears under a different post, which I know is confusing – Scroll down to the end of the comment section to see it: https://snackingandsnarking.com/2015/07/judgy-eyes-tahitian-skies-s10e8/
Husker – It is obvious that my non-negative comments about another blogger deeply offended you. I am sorry that my words caused you or anyone else any pain. That was not my intention at all and I’m sorry that was the unintended result.
I am assuming your comment is referring to the blog wars that were going on between Lynn Hudson and Tamara Tattles several years ago. Back in those days, I was really unaware of most of the blogging wars that were going on or who was even involved in them. I was a reader and a huge fan of Lynn Hudson’s website. I didn’t ever even make a comment back then – or really even read many comments until after Lynn’s unfortunate passing. I totally agree with you… May Lynn rest in peace.
I feel that I need to make it clear that I have no interest to be involved in any blogging wars of any kind, whatsoever. In addition, I am not going to continue to fight over something about which I have no first-hand knowledge. I have the utmost respect for Lynn and also for Veena and the amazing community they have created and maintained. I have said so over and over and over again. However, I am not Lynn. I am not Veena – I am not Tamara Tattles – I am Stars99.
I must be honest with you – It offends me to the core that you think that I’ve somehow disrespected Lynn’s memory by a mere casual mention of another blogger. In response to your question about me being “friends” with Tamara I will only say that I’ve never had any communication with her whatsoever, not that it’s anyone’s business. I’m confident she is blissfully unaware of my existence.
I will say this… Negative comments about other commenters or bloggers on this site will not be tolerated. Anyone can feel free to contact me directly if they have anything they want to say to me – but I will not allow this site to be polluted with negativity towards ANYONE in this community.
The first 2 rules in the current Commenting Policy are as follows:
(1) Use your nice words, share your toys, and play well with others.
(2) Reserve snarky comments for those on TV and use your nice words towards other commenters and contributors.
— Respect others always.
— When necessary… Agree to disagree, agreeably.
You’re right – “This place is not the same” – I mean, how could it be? This is my site that reflects my quirky style and unique personality. I will continue to do my very best to provide readers with the highest quality posts that I possibly can. I absolutely value every single person who takes the time to read and/or comment on any of the posts on this site.
Fortunately, there are many sandboxes in which we can play. It’s one of the greatest things about the internet. If someone doesn’t like one sandbox, they can choose another. Just make sure you take your baggage with you.
