voltaren usa Remember Last Week…
We learned that Meghan is exploiting her stepdaughter for a storyline in a reality show. Meghan thinks she has a better relationship with Hayley than Hayley has with her own mother because she can talk to her about tweeting. This of course is while Hayley’s dying mother is busy fighting for her life. Ugh… We watched Tamra become a grandmother… Shannon and David continue to live happily never after. They really should learn to listen better to their kids because then they might learn to listen better to each other. I got really mad at Bravo… I’m still mad…
Oh Bravo, dear Bravo… These episodes have been very hard to watch… Why are you doing this to us? The timeframe seems to be approximately 2 weeks after the death of Vicki’s mom and her brother is already visiting her here in California and is participating in the filming of this reality show. Ugh.
The grief these two are experiencing is very raw. Like so many other grieving people, they are looking for answers… They want assurances that their mom wasn’t in any pain when she died… Plus, last week Vicki said she wanted a recipe from her mom (no seriously, she did…)… So they did what every other person does – They consult a medium… or a median, depending on who you talk to…lol.
Now, there may be people who are psychically in touch with realms outside of ours… They may receive information in unconventional ways… However, the source of the information is always suspect to me. To me, it’s all about the source…
In this situation, Vicky’s “medium” would be more valuable as a “median” because at least he would have a useful purpose in life. This scene irritated me because I saw him just pretend to know stuff and cue off of what is easily googleable (is that even a word?). He just pretended to be an information bridge between 2 very vulnerable, grieving people who are thirsty for information and their recently departed loved one. I watched him squeeze the dollar signs hanging above Vicki and her brother’s head… The only solace for me was that Vicki prolly didn’t have to pay him a dime because he prolly did it for the free advertising on national TV. But from this show, there will be lots of others who will pay…
Shannon and Tamra were also in attendance. At one point, Tamra got in trouble by the medium for asking a question about a tattoo which the guy never really responded to at all. All he said was very generic stuff. He did say something about dental work – but it’s not a stretch to surmise that an 83-year-old woman would have some dental issues, no?
Personally, I would have asked him about Vicki’s mom’s recipe. I probably would have gotten booted out of there, though. The guy suggested that Vicki’s brother has a digestion issue. Again, big surprise that someone who is grieving has some digestive issues – Although Vicki’s bro didn’t seem to know he had any issues…lol. Tamra tells us in her talking head interview (TH) that the only person full of crap is the medium. This might be the 2nd time this season that I agree with Tamra. This might be a record.

Last year, CUT Fitness Studio’s business didn’t do well – In fact, they lost money. Tamra wanted to close it down but Eddie wanted to continue to try to make it work. Tamra does not like the way she and Eddie work together at the Studio – They are always fighting. It seems to be all about power and control. Tamra reminds Eddie that she is 51% owner and she darn well wants to be treated like it.
They make a “quickie” video (because sex sells) to give people free tidbits of information in hopes they want more and come in for a class. While filming, Tamra is a pain to Eddie and he is a pain back to her. It’s kind of hard to watch. You can tell Eddie cares a lot about the business. I can see Tamra’s point that he’s not seeing her as a business partner equal because Eddie’s phrasing isn’t so great at times – but she’s also being a royal pain in the dupa.
Ultimately, Tamra tells Eddie she doesn’t like how they argue with each other at the Studio. They decide that Tamra will concentrate on going back into real estate while Eddie continues to work at the Studio. Sometimes people who love and adore each other just can’t work together. Eddie almost jumped for joy to know that Tamra wouldn’t be in the Studio as often…
Speaking of exercise, we have a segment that involves Shannon deciding to get into shape. She’s gained a bit of weight over the last few months probably from stress-eating (went from 120 lbs. to 134 lbs.) and she wants to get toned up and fit. I’m surprised she isn’t going to CUT Fitness Studio… But it’s really probably at least 30-40 minutes away from her on a good traffic day. I was surprised that Shannon kinda grabbed her flab on her tummy and actually allowed them to film it. The “before” pictures they took just proves to all of us that anyone can look very out of shape – No matter how much they weigh. It’s not easy starting an exercise regimen when you’re over the age of 50 if you’re not already used to it. Good luck to her!
fml t eye drops price Happy Early Valentine’s Day
Our favorite cheater (David) and his wife (Shannon) go out to a nice restaurant. While it’s not yet Valentine’s Day, David gives Shannon a gift that is supposed to compensate for all of the other Valentine’s Days he screwed up or spent with his alleged mistress(es). He gives her a dragon cuff thingie… (I think it’s similar to the one shown here except that it was gold: http://www.johnhardy.com/naga-double-coil-bracelet/220725.html). Shannon really appreciates the gesture because it relates to the fact they were both born in the Chinese year of the dragon. She thinks she’s doing well, because last year, she thought about the whole cheating thing 24/7 – but now, she only thinks about it like 40-50 times a day. It’s progress. #babysteps
Parenting is Hard
Meghan’s stepdaughter, Hayley, takes her mother to her various doctor appointments. I guess she’s the designated driver because there’s not a single other person in Orange County who could drive her back and forth. Evidently, because she does this, she’s unable to attend a conventional high school. Instead, she’s enrolled in an alternative education program through the public school system. She works independently on assignments all week and then once a week she meets with her advisor and takes an exam on that week’s material.
However, Hayley doesn’t seem to be doing well with her schoolwork. She isn’t completing the assignments or showing up for her weekly meetings, etc. However, we also have a scene wherein Meghan gleefully hands 17-year-old Hayley a $100 bill and identifies it as “her weekly allowance.” Plus, Hayley also has a gas card… Wow. Ummm… I don’t know about you… but I stopped getting an “allowance” when I entered Junior High school and was able to babysit my way into financial independence. Now, I had certain chores I was expected to do every week – but I didn’t get paid for those. Once in a while, my mom would pay me to go canvassing with her when she was trying to get her real estate career in motion… And there may have been other “odd” things she paid me to do here and there when I needed extra money for something specific… But I honestly don’t remember getting an allowance after the 6th grade… And it was like $5 or something at the very most…lol.
The piece of the puzzle that I don’t understand is this: How is Meghan still receiving an allowance if her school work is suffering? That’s probably the FIRST thing my parents would have withheld from me… The level of expectation was that school was the #1 priority above every other thing.
Meghan beats herself up because she doesn’t think she’s doing a good job in parenting Meghan. I believe Meghan when she says it’s hard to step into a situation like this and try to parent a teenager. To be fair, Hayley’s issues started well before Meghan was even a glint in her AWOL husband’s eye… It IS hard to be a parent of a teenager especially when you’ve only been doing it for a minute. It especially doesn’t work when you’re too busy trying to be their friend and not their parent. At least, that’s my opinion.
Oh, and by the way, Meghan put Hayley on birth control pills. Meghan seems to feel she’s too young to be a grandparent. Because you know… It’s all about Meghan.
The girls decide to take Vicki bowling as a distraction. I find it fascinating they think bowling is the way to go – but at least they’re doing something. We all know these women are not going to do well with wearing the public bowling shoes, right? Some bring their own shoes, while others wear the appointed shoes. However, Her Royal Heatherness and Tamra decide to… Wait for it… Wait for it… THEY BOWL IN THEIR HEELS!
Are you freakin’ kidding me? This is such a blatant disrespect for the bowling alley… You’re not even supposed to wear tennis shoes that you’ve worn elsewhere because of the gritty remnants that will easily scratch up the surface of the alley. I just get so embarrassed when they do crap like this. Vicki wishes some designer would come along and design better bowling shoes – She’s got a point. I’ve yet to find a cute pair of bowling shoes at an alley. I used to buy my own… They were cute – Well, they were blue… And that’s cute enough for me.
At one point, Tamra offers to talk to Briana (Vicki’s daughter) about Brooks and how her opinion has changed about him. In considering the logistics of how that would happen, they knew they would need to get someone to babysit Briana’s kids. Vicki said it would be no problem – because they could just get her mom to do it. The look on Vicki’s face when she suddenly realized her mother wasn’t available to babysit just sent chills down my spine. I’m not going to say anything more about this scene.
Shannon tries her best to talk to Vicki about her concern about Brooks’ health. Shannon knows a world-renown doctor who embraces the best of both eastern and western current medical treatments and technologies. Shannon is witnessing Brooks waste away to nothing from drinking only fruit smoothies with no additional protein supplements. Shannon doesn’t think this is the right course of treatment and seems to have information to back up her opinion. Vicki has accompanied Brooks to his chemotherapy treatments but not to his regular doctor’s appointments. I think Shannon is coming from a genuine place of caring and concern – whether her intervention is appreciated by Vicki or not. I totally believe Shannon only wants Brooks to get better – as we all do. I have no idea what the best course of treatment is for Brooks because each case is unique. However, I do suspect that Vicki is ensuring he gets the best of the best treatment, though. Cancer sucks. So often they have to keep trying various combinations of treatments to get one that works well… I hope it does…
The greatest thing about this scene was when Vicki beats everyone in bowling. Meghan, who boasts she got an “A+” in bowling in HS, was only 1 pin away from Vicki… lolol… Meghan thinks she should have won because she’s young and competitive. I’ve been waiting to see Meghan and Vicki go at it… Meghan has NO idea what she’s in for… lol.
Afterwards, they meet Lizzie for drinks. Why isn’t Lizzie a fulltime housewife again? Anyhoo… Vicki announces that she wants to take everyone to Tahiti, specifically to Mo’orea. Everyone is very excited about this – Although they have no idea really where it is or how to spell it. It’s also spelled “Moorea” by the way…
Please see the chart below for this season’s Real Housewives of Orange County’s viewership statistics. A special thanks to Randy at http://bravowhore.com/post/121208284939/rhocs10 . You’re awesome!
I am sure we get to deal with more cancer and death. Sigh.
This wasn’t AS hard of an episode to watch as the last two have been… But still… It’s hard to want to watch a show about the death of a parent, a significant other battling cancer, a mother battling cancer, a teenager who is wonky, and a marriage that is disintegrating before our very eyes. It’s hard to fathom that Her Royal Heatherness and Tamra are the bright spots, no?
Thanks so much for reading… Hopefully, the episodes will gradually get easier to watch… It’s hard to be snarky when it’s about such serious subject matter. I continue to attempt to refrain from passing judgment on someone else’s grief or how they cope with it. We are all different. Each grief is different.
